I’m sure folks appreciate your coach for his service & wanting to do that. I would refrain from saying where your studio is on this sub. We all know corporate lurks here & it would be a shame for your studio to get in trouble for doing their own thing today. Damn. For Murph Memorial Day 2019 shirt of you saying that Murph does not honor our heroes, please read up on it and why CrossFit started doing it (and other “hero words”). There is a lot of great info about LT Mike Murphy online and a lot of great info about why we do Murph on Memorial Day. I love “hero workouts”. I take the time during those workouts to think about all that these amazing humans have gone through and sacrificed, and I think about how fortunate I am to be able to live the lifestyle that I do thanks to them. The “hero words” (when I was doing CrossFit) are the only workouts I won’t complain about. I do OTF now but I went to a CrossFit yesterday to do Murph and I used that time to focus on all of the things I mentioned.

For those of you saying that these workouts don’t honor the fallen, I beg to differ. Please do some research. Also, you can both donate money/volunteer AND participate in these types of workouts. They’re not mutually exclusive. Our 3g was a three-partner modified version of the Murph. I Murph Memorial Day 2019 shirt I ended up rowing 3,600 meters, ran 1.25 miles, and 30 each of low row on trx straps, burpees, push-ups, and pull-ups. I skipped class and did a full Murph with a coach and some friends then did a half Murph with my son at the gym in the afternoon. I called a rest day today. Not dying but sore enough to know better than to go today. It appears from what other studios were doing that yours didn’t follow the template today. Mine did tornados. I’m glad you found it enjoyable and I like the sentiment behind it. Having said that, I’d be pissed that I didn’t get the template everyone else did.

It looks spot on except for the vest. Wearing a vest and scaling the range of motion or the movement is not advisable. You’re not pushing your absolute limit, you’re exceeding it and just scaling so you can make it happen. You’ll probably get along and sweaty workout, but Murph Memorial Day 2019 shirt kind of missing the point. It would be like if you scaled Fran to front squats instead of thrusters but then used 135 for the weight. It becomes a different workout. It’s your workout, my advice would be to lose the vest and make your movements as close to what’s written as possible. In terms of breaking it up, it sounds like you have a good plan. I’m active duty and fairly experienced and I did Murph for years before I ever did it once with a vest. Removing the vest is the FIRST scaling option, scaling further from there.
