The image that you just got into a terrible accident and you and your wife/significant other/dog were trapped in a burning car, and Jethro Fucking Gibbs appears outside with a freaking sledgehammer to bail you out. I recall a cartoon about a chap Gibbs Mark Harmon shirt that couldn’t fail at anything because everything worked out for him. Eventually realizing that he had failed at something, failure itself. he was more stone-cold, no soul type badass. His age makes him more of a well respected “seen some shit” kinda guy anyway, a good role for him on NCIS  I never bought it because the first impression that I had of him was from the movie, Summer School, where he was a goofy screw-up. Ever since then I have always seen him as kind of goofy. that’s more how I picture him…I also think the jacket he wears is a little too big…contributing to him looking like a doofus.

Not only did he do this, but he refused to give interviews about it afterward. I honestly think if no news crews had shown up at his door that he wouldn’t have said a thing. If you’ve ever seen a car burn (and I have, twice), you know that they don’t explode like in the movies, but they do get really hot, really fast once they get going. To add my 2 cents to the “Mark Harmon is a Badass” piece of art: the thumbnail you see is a photo taken by a professional. Mr. Harmon kindly put it under Creative Commons Licence so that Wikipedia can use it on his page (instead of the ordinary crappy blurry fan photo)  Tommy Lee Jones played Offensive Tackle for Harvard and was roommates with Al Gore. There are a surprising amount of movies or TV stars from this era Gibbs Mark Harmon shirt played some kind of college sport.
