Yep. The Hot Takes section was entertaining, and is great for challenging conventional thinking. This take belongs in the “Criminally Stupid Take” section. It sure does. I imagine it comes from a person who is too embarrassed to yell fore, so instead the person uses the excuse that it is up to other people to be aware of their surroundings. I’m assuming Always Be Yourself Unless You Can Be A Tiger Cool Tiger Gift T-Shirt this doesn’t mean “I shouldn’t have to yell fore, you should always be aware of golf balls coming towards your head” and instead means “You should never have to yell fore, you should be aware if people are close enough to hit and not hit.” At least that’s how I prefer to read it, since the first option is astoundingly stupid. The second option is also pretty dumb, I don’t mean to hook a drive, I’m yelling fore because an unexpected shot is now barreling towards someone.

And to add, even if someone is actively watching you tee off from afar (e.g. they yanked their drive into your fairway and are waiting for the tee to clear before hitting their shot), you should still yell fore if your tee shot is going towards them. Just because someone is watching doesn’t mean they can actually see where your ball is going. The sky, viewing angle, Always Be Yourself Unless You Can Be A Tiger Cool Tiger Gift T-Shirt or terrain doesn’t always make it easy to track an incoming golf ball from afar, so at least give them a heads up… Yeah I totally disagree with the handicap hot take. I think it is one of the things that makes golf so great knowing that people at all levels of play can compete against each other. Of course it has its flaws like sandbagging but if your buddies are sandbagging you need new buddies

So to me the odd thing here is it shouldn’t matter what the tee colors are because likely they are different everywhere. Several people saying it’s play the “whites” or the “tips”. Well at a lot of courses I play there is often two options beyond the whites. Why don’t we talk in actual yardage? I’m right on the verge of probably needing to play further back than standard “whites”. I score well from there. If “blues” not the “tips” are at or under 6400 I tend to do ok. Always Be Yourself Unless You Can Be A Tiger Cool Tiger Gift T-ShirtBut much further than that and there are A LOT of par 4s I’m hitting driver-3wood in. Yeah I agree that going by color instead of yardage is stupid. I’ve been to a lot of places that are “tipped out” at like 6200 yards and then the next week I’ll play a course that’s 6300 from the whites
